Twistbox Now Serving South Africa, Opens Market to Affiliates

LOS ANGELES — Twistbox has announced the latest step in its ongoing expansion, with the company’s recent entrance into the vibrant South African mobile market.

According to the company, Twistbox is a direct mobile advertiser featuring exclusive products developed in-house, and offering integrated one-click direct carrier billing.

Twistbox VP of Operations Lernmond Khodaverdy told XBIZ that with the success of its offers in smaller European markets, the company sought to expand its portfolio into larger and more mature markets.

“South Africa is the first of many more to come in the next six months,” reports Khodaverdy. “With [more than 60 million] mobile subscribers, we are very excited to tap into what was once a thriving market and to add another market to our growing portfolio.”

The addition of the new territory makes sense for Twistbox, due to synergies with its expertise.

“One of the great things about South Africa is that the carrier billing guidelines and flows are in line with our other top performing markets,” Khodaverdy explains. “We’re hoping this is a fairly smooth transition and penetration of a brand new market, which is never an easy task.”

Khodaverdy told XBIZ that international expansions can be challenging due to different factors such as user behavior, pricing, regulations, and more that can make the difference between a successful offer in a new market, or one that doesn’t perform at all — but these are challenges that the company can overcome due to its broad experience.

“We look forward to applying our experience and expertise to make this an instant success and new revenue stream for our partners and affiliates,” Khodaverdy concludes, noting that Twistbox plans to announce further market expansions in the near future.
